离开 的意思是暂时的分开，例如离开某个地方：我要去上课了，所以先离开了。（可能不久之后就会回来） 离别 的意思是告别，通常指将会分开很久，例如：我将要去另一个国家生活了，但我不想与你离别。 所以，我不想让你离开 或者 我不想与你离别 都是正确的，表达的意思有所不同。

离开 = leave (perhaps a chance to return) 离別 = to separate, to say goodbye, to depart. (perhaps, never to return) 离开我 = leave me! You cannot say "depart from me" to have the same meaning. 离开人世 = to leave the world i.e. to die but perhaps can return as a reincarnated soul. 离別人世 same meaning but most probably will not be able to back in any form etc.
