Are these options correct for "give up"? I gave up smoking. I gave smoking up. I gave it up. and basically, the object cannot come after the particle. (eg. I gave up it.) Thank you in advance.

I gave up smoking. [correct] I gave smoking up. [This is sometimes used but doesn't really seem natural.] I gave it up. [correct]

Hi Hamid, they are all correct! Smoking is the object and IT is the object pronoun. When you use the object pronoun you can't use it after the particle!
