Arabic Question: Please Help! What is the purpose of لء at the end of words? The question is in regards to Arabic female markers like Ta maarbuta (ة) and Alif maqsura (ى). I have come across a third end marker: لء. When and how do we use the lam and hamza together at the end of words. I am new to this combination. Your response is appreciated! Please explain in detail-I want to make sure I am not confused.

Hi , maybe you mean Alif+Hamza (ا+ء) like سماء / صحراء . You are right, both words are feminine nouns but we can't consider it as a feminine marker because there are some other masculine nouns having same end like ذكاء / غباء / غناء But in case of Adjectives it is a real marker for feminine adjective like حمراء / زرقاء / صماء / while the same adjectives for masculine are أحمر / أزرق / أصم

This situation exists only in the local dialects of some Arab countries, but in the Arabic language, it does not exist

لئن شكرتم لازيدنكم do you mean لء same as the one in first word

In Arabic we don't have an end maker with لء so i think you might came over only one or two words with the end of this two letters لء , but it's not an end maker.
