(Japanese type of Chinese Characters) Can someone translate this for me?
So i bought this random beautiful Asian style fabric. It has some Asian lettering on it.
I just thought it's Chinese looking..but someone said to me It's Japanese type of Chinese Characters. (Kanji??)
I'm supposed to add this fabric piece to my art project. So i'm curious what does it says? Or does it even say anything that means something? If you can eaven read / understand it?
Just want to make sure what it says before adding it to my art project.
(I'm sorry if i'm saying something wrong about the language/characters. Please correct me so i can learn! )

That is probably the opening lines of the Japanese classic Heike Monogatari(=The tale of the Heike).
「祇園精舎の鐘の声、諸行無常の響あり。」=The sound of the bell of Gion-shoja, rings with the transience of all things,

HIRO-san is right. It is the very first part of the opening line of The Tale of Heike.
Specifically, the writing, from top to bottom, consists of six Chinese characters:
祇園精舎鐘聲
meaning "the sound of the bell of the Gion-shoja Temple"
