I’m going to be home late vs. I'll be home late: Is there any difference?

There is often a difference between the 'will' future and the 'going to' future, but sometimes there is very little or no difference. In this case they mean more or less the same thing.

They mean the same thing. "I am going to be" vs. "I will be" are both indicating your future state.
