Ambiguous: able to be understood in more than one way, and therefore unclear or confusing. Ex: Her comment was so ambiguous that some people thought that she was pleased while others thought she was annoyed. Inexplicit: not expressed in way that is very clear and direct. Ex: He gave me inexplicit directions how to get there, so I was not sure where should I turn on the left.

Ambiguous: 1. having more than one meaning: having more than one possible meaning or interpretation. 2. causing uncertainty: causing uncertainty or confusion Amphibolous: a phrase or sentence that can be interpreted in two ways, usually because of the grammatical construction rather than the meanings of the words themselves. The phrase "the boy on the chair with a broken leg" is an amphibology. Inexplicit: not made clear, not expressed or shown fully, openly, and unambiguously

I just want to correct a mistake which is obvious here. The opposite of 'explicit' is 'implicit' (NOT inexplicit). explicit= said, done or shown in an open or direct way. 'explicit instructions' 'explicit books and films' = leaving no question as to meaning or intention because they are expressed without implication, vagueness, or ambiguity. However, if something is 'implicit', it is suggested without being directly expressed: 'implicit criticism' If the meaning is implicit, this means that the speaker or writer implies something (they suggest something without saying it directly). If a word is 'ambiguous', it can be understood in more than one way because it has different meanings. 'Ambiguous' means also 'not clearly stated or defined'. 'Amphibolous': Having a grammatical structure that allows of two interpretations; equivocal. '3 rooms, river view, private phone, bath, kitchen, utilities included' (a newspaper advertisement) This advertisement is amphibolous. One cannot tell from the printed words whether 'private' modifies only phone or whether it also modifies bath and kitchen.

inexplicit = unclear / lacks information ambiguous = a phrase or situation that can be interpreted in different ways amphibolous: Having a grammatical structure that allows of two interpretations; equivocal (this more of a grammatical technical term, people rarely use it in conversation) As you can see all of these concepts are very close to each other.

I didn't say the word 'inexplicit' doesn't exist in the English language. I just wanted to give the exact opposite of 'explicit'. The free online online dictionary uses the word 'implicit' in the examples it provides in order to explain the meaning of 'inexplicit'. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/inexplicit @Jiabao : I believe your question is EXPLICIT(= clear and precise). You wanted us to give the exact meaning of some adjectives, but I just wanted to give another interesting adjective (IMPLICIT) which is the opposite of explicit.
