I don`t think I have the Answer. Could you be more specific though. Do you mean the last name ? I am Canadian and my last name is Hogan. That is my family name. That seems short enough to me... I would say that multicultural origins of Canadians and how many Canadians of European lineage have longer names; in European culture last names defined your families. I wouldn`t say all last names are long Hogan, Smith, Roy. It might be that the two languages differ in pronunciation, but Chinese lineage seems to reduce the length of the names for some reason. Maybe you know...?
