you can say i went to a beach. i saw lots of people there. i went to a beach. there, i saw lots of people. you can make it one sentence i went to a beach where i saw lots of people.

I went to a beach. At the beach/There we saw lots/a lot of people. [we never say "at there"] There we saw lots/a lot of people.
