There is a saying in English :"Cease to struggle and you cease to live."Into Chinese is 生命不止,奋斗不息. While i think the meaning of "you have to cease to live " is Eventhough you die but the spirit,impression,which people know about you will not gone.So you still alive while you die.Means :虽死犹生。Just like 虽败犹荣。

I think the translation is correct. Mark Twain has ever said:" do not part with your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live."不要放棄你的幻想. 當幻想沒有的時候,你還可以生存,但你卻雖生猶死. "
