What is the difference between capability and capacity?

basically, 'capability' means the ability to perform while 'capacity' is the ability to contain. The sentence above means that 'men is able to think' but 'not all can be as intelligent as Einstein.'

Hi Eric,
Capability describes ability to do something or potentially able perform something.
On the other hand, capacity can describe the maximum amount / volume that one / thing can exert on.
For example, the barrel's capacity is 10 litres.
Another example - In my capacity as the division head, I now announce that all employees are entitled to 30 days of paid leave for the good work done this year!

Capability means the quality of being capable -- physically or intellectually or legally
while Capacity the power to learn or retain knowledge; in law, the ability to understand the facts and significance of your behaviour.
