What's the difference between manager and executive?

It is mostly about level or relationship.
If someone has a title of "Vice President" or "Chief < something > officer," then they are generally said to be an executive in the company. They are the final decision makers in some areas.
Managers exist at many levels in companies.
However; if you work directly for an executive, you may say that person is your manager.
