How is "-든요" used? Is it used frequently in conversations as well?

-거든요 is an informal 'because'.
It's used to inform someone of something, and we don't use it with people we don't know very well.
A : Why didn't you show up yesterday?
B : 좀 아팠거든요.
저 지금 가야 되거든요. I should go now.
