I hope this helps. We don't use this word anymore in conversations. Very archaic. As a native, I would say it this way: As an adjective: Absent siya sa trabaho. As a verb: Umabsent siya sa trabaho.

Lumiban siya sa trabaho.

Ibig kong sabihin "niya" niliban niya ang trabaho. 😅
