I have found a place for the magnolia. Question: Which is grammatically correct in each pair of the sentences?

They are all correct grammatically. Some are just more common or natural than others. The most natural are: 1 a 2 a 3 a 4 either 5 b

They are all grammatically correct, but it’s a question on what you want to emphasize. For example if I asked “Who did you touch?”, “I gave Tom a nudge” is better cause the question was about who. But if I asked “What did you do to Tom?” then “I gave a nudge to Tom” is better cause the question was focused on what you did.

1a 2a 3a 4both but they have slightly different meanings. (a) is more common. 5b
