Does any tutor here provide lessons in "old English"? I am very much interested.

You can try a keyword search on all the English teachers, but you probably won’t find anything. English prior to 1150 (which we could actually call “Anglo-Fllyrisian”) was similar to Frisian, but it appears there are no Frisian teachers here. Dutch was also reasonably close to English in those days, so a Dutch teacher would probably understand a lot. Most native English speakers would not be able to read Old English, as the subsequent Norman Invasion had such a large impact on the language. Actually, lots of today’s native English speakers would have trouble with Shakespeare, which is early Modern English. If you go to the main page of the Wikipedia, you can “Read Wikipedia in your language” and choose “Ænglisc” (it’s in the “1 000+ articles” section) — that will give you some exposure to the language. What exactly is your interest in Old English, Aki?

Do you mean Ancient or Medival?

Have a look at Simon Roper's YouTube channel. He is an amateur linguist who looks into and attempts to speak Anglo-Saxon and medieval English. It's quite fascinating. 😺

Hi Aki, This is more of a history question, rather than an English learning question. For your information, the first book thought to be printed in English is about 540 years old, “The Recuyell of the Histories of Troye". This is a version of a French book said to be written around 1463. Prior to this, English was recorded via manuscripts. For Medival English, which is what you are referring to, the British library has information and some literature: https://www.bl.uk/medieval-literature?_ga=2.208710609.218778760.1640762611-1120927714.1640762611 They also have podcasts, which could be helpful.
