Friedhof in Belgien Hallo liebe Leute!

Who can claim speaking the REAL language?

Hello guys,

As I was scrolling through the list of French Italki teacher to check how rated I was compared to other teachers, I noticed something appealing: a significant part of teachers/tutors claim speaking and teaching the REAL French, from France. I'm a French native speaker from Belgium, therefore I wonder: Is my mother tongue FAKE? If some people claim speaking a language that is real, does it mean that other variants of that language are copies?

I don't want to target anyone nor a community, I have seen that not only with French. Even my German teacher at the university surprised me once, pointing on the map in the classroom where the purest German was spoken. It was such a nonsense for me that I don't even remember where it was exactly. I'm sorry Swiss, Austrians, Bavarians, Belgians (German is spoken in Belgium) but you don't speak German. Even though you think that's your mother tongue and even though you've been speaking it for your whole life, I have a message for you: your language is fake.

Can you feel the violence here? A specific accent, a specific vocabulary, a specific way to express yourself, we all have it and that is what makes us. A language is not only a way to communicate, it is part of us.. Because some many things keep living in the way we speak, our history, our character, our emotions. When you have integrated that, you can feel all the nonsense and the violence in phrases like : "I speak the REAL language with the REAL accent". Because it means that some accents and languages are fake. And as these things are an important part of who we are, it also means that some people are also fake. I've been witnessing it for a long time and now it starts getting on my nerves, so I afford to tell it: I am real. I am pure. And so is my language. Because I'm carrying a history, a heritage, lives, thoughts and emotions. As anyone else on this planet. French is not only spoken in Paris. Reality is everywhere.

This is what I wanted to discuss with you today :)

Versuch für meine Prüfung Hallo! Ich bin am 3. September 1997 in südbelgien geboren.

You can not judge a book by its cover. Hello everyone! I'm submitting this assignment to you guys, in order to know if this respects well all the features of academic writing. This time we had to write an assignment with only the first and last sentence of each paragraph. This leads to an assignment of only 6 sentences, that therefore need to be perfect. This is academic writing and then I'd like to know if my text is well written. I chose a quote of Mark Twain : 'All generalizations are false, including this one' You can not judge a book by its cover Through their lives, humans are brought to meet very different people from different cultures, ethnic groups or countries, and are often tempted to treat them according to their membership of those communities, regardless their personality. […] Nonetheless, it appears that generalization might turn out to be hazardous, even more with the unfortunate events that have taken place recently and led people to put everyone in the same boat. It is peculiar to human beings to feel the need to belong to a community, to be part of a tribe, a nation, a culture. […] However, a trait such as the nationality is only one of the multiple parts of a person, and it is clear that one can be really different than someone else whom they only share this feature with. If it is sometimes the easiest way to judge a person, generalizing is a very narrow-minded process that often leads to a misunderstanding of others. […] The human being is a very complex creature and this is the reason why generalization does not make sense. Is my text coherent? Is the punctuation well used? Do you clearly see the point I'm making? Thanks in advance, Simon

Does money make happiness? Men have been seeking happiness since the dawn of time. They have discovered, created, built, worked, cried, evolved, and interacted in the hope of finding the key to be happy. Throughout this eternal debate between stoicism and epicureanism, men have never stopped wondering what the best way to be happy was. Over the course of their journey, they also have tended to be materialistic and confuse ‘having’ with ‘being’. In today’s world, in which it is legitimate to say that money rules the world, does money make happiness? It is not easy to talk about money in our western society, this is a fact. Generally, it is not known how much people earn. First interesting observation: it is hard to imagine that the so-called most important thing in life is a taboo subject. However, people are constantly driven to believe that money is the only thing they should be concerned about. The consumer society is in the dock. Advertisings are now everywhere and no one can escape from them. People do not buy things because they need them, but because they can afford it. Men create their own needs. Moreover, a trend is spreading according to which this addiction to wealth and money should be felt by everyone. In a family dinner, the one who says that money is not very important to him will probably be called a hypocrite. It is true: it is more comfortable to declare that you are not obsessed by money when you can live easily on your own, even though you are not rich. Notwithstanding, there is no need to be the poorest person on Earth to say that money is not the most important thing in life. Of course, an important part of the world is starving and living under dramatic conditions because of a lack of money among other reasons. Unfortunately, there are still homeless people in every country, even in the so-called developed ones, for whom some extra money could change everything. However, this sad truth should not prevent people from claiming out loud that money is only one aspect of their life. Seeing the world only through dollars and euros is a big mistake too many people make. Money is not a goal, but a ‘tool’ that may help to reach the goals. We need money to survive, but we need people to live. We need relationships to give meaning to money. Unfortunately, too many people tend to forget it, and this is one of the biggest curse of today’s society. Human beings do not do what we want with money, they are its slaves. Thanks for correcting, What do you think of it?

Short paragraph about refugees It is 7 o'clock in the morning in the city of ... , in Syria. A new bomb wakes up Mohamed. The night was short. The bombing have lasted the whole night and Mohamed could not sleep much. He is living alone now, as his siblings and parents have all died in the conflict. " Living " is a big word. He is mainly surviving, trying to imagine that the war will end soon. However, today, he is fed up. He is tired of seeing his people being bombed, in this conflict that is not theirs. A lot of them have told him to escape to Europe, where life is way better, according to them. He has always wanted to stay here, he loves his country, he loves his people. Notwithstanding, he is nearly alone now. The city is everyday more empty and dead. A friend of his has told him of a boat that will cross the Meditteranea next week. The place is very expensive, he has to invest all the money he has been sparing with care for his whole youth. However, maybe it is worth it. He has always been so joyful, so smiling, so happy to live. His life is now tasteless and scary. It is maybe his only chance to smile again. This is the reason why, on this morning of October, Mohamed takes his bag with the few money he has to cross this sea he has never gone through. Frightened, full of a priori, crying. He does not want that much. He just wants to feel safe, to be sure to eat everyday and to have as alarm clock something else than the bombs. He hopes, that in this continent, people will be as good and warm as he has been told. He just wants the right to live. Nothing more. Thanks for the correction!
