I enjoyed my first lesson with Aletta. She quickly assessed where I was with my Hungarian skills and we had some back and forth conversation based on my limited skills. As we talked, she typed words into a Google doc so that I could be clear on the spelling and pronunciation. As a visual learner, I appreciate being able to see unfamiliar words. I also appreciate having a written record of the words and concepts that we covered. If I had to take my own notes, I wouldn’t get as much out of the session. Aletta is very friendly and I can tell that she really cares about her students. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Hungarian.

I met with Aletta twice while I was in Budapest to practice speaking in person before my simplified naturalization interview. I really enjoyed speaking with her and she especially helped with some common phrases and different question wordings. Her manner is warm and friendly, and she was very supportive and encouraging of my beginner/intermediate speaking.

I had a very nice conversational lesson with Aletta where we talked about different topics and the corresponding situational phrases and expressions. As it was intentionally a conversational practice, instead of pre-prepared materials and exercises, we went with the flow of the conversation and Aletta wrote down notes of the topics and expressions of the lesson which I was provided with at the end.

Alletta was kind and helpful and willing to work with me as I requested, even though it is a bit different from what is probably considered "normal".

Wonderful to talk to Aletta again after a long break!
