My name is Keli'i, and I am a Native Hawaiian currently living in Japan.
I have been teaching for the past 12 years to students from Hawai'i and worldwide.
There is a growing interest outside of Hawai'i for people wanting to learn Hawaiian, and so I hope to guide and inspire you on the path to learning this rare and beautiful language.Che tipo di insegnante sono
As a teacher, I have a solid experience teaching the Hawaiian Language as a first language to youth of Hawaiian-speaking communities, as well as a second language language to students of all ages and backgrounds. I have a degree in Hawaiian Studies/Language from the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, and have gained a reputation within the university community as an alumni bridging the Hawaiian language and culture to other culture's around the world.Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
I engage the students in learning not only the language but also the culture surrounding the Hawaiian Language. Hawaiian is a highly contextual and poetic language and so learning the culture is key to unlocking the deeper levels of Hawaiian; thus, my lessons are highly engaging and interactive.
My classes are a mix of written and conversational Hawaiian, and can be tailored to the needs of each student.Il mio materiale didattico
