Compared to other professors, Murillo really shines in his conversation skills. He is charismatic and knows perfectly how to subtly make a conversation go more in depth, thus forcing me to go outside the comfort zone of my language skills. The hours with him are the most fun I’ve ever had in my language learning journey, 10/10 would recommend.

There are many friendly Brazilian teachers who will give you great conversational classes so you can practice your intermediate level: you are going to learn things you may or may not forget, but it will be turning in circles, remaining in your comfort zone, repeating what you know, including the deeply entrenched habit-forming mistakes. Then there is Murillo: he is going to make you break through your comfort zone of repetition. You will discover new subject matters, new colloquial expressions and much more. He remembers what you learnt and should know; once you make a mistake, he won’t correct you by giving you the right version (which is usually pointless), but he makes you stop and makes you try to remember yourself. He makes you get rid of those deeply rooted errors and works on your pronunciation, so that we sound a little closer to what real Brazilians sound like. In a nutshell: Murillo is an excellent teacher and I fully recommend him. He has made a big difference to me.

Murillo is very patient and kind in his mannerisms. His classes feel very natural and fun because we talk about so many interesting topics and use different learning materials. He is also very good at sensing what the student needs and making adjusting according to your weaknesses and strengths.
