My partner and I have been taking lessons with Chi for over 2 years in preparation for a trip to Vietnam! As heritage speakers who wanted to reconnect with the language, we couldn't be happier that we decided to take classes with Chi. Chi structures her lessons to our needs and is always so patient. She teaches the basics very well in addition to being a great conversation partner. 10/10 recommend lessons with Chi!

Chi is a fantastic teacher and always makes each lesson interesting. She always has multiple topics to talk about, which allows me to expand my vocabulary. Chi also tailors the lessons around your needs and add on new concepts that are missing from your curriculum. I have been studying with Chi for a few years now and I don't regret it all. I cannot recommend Chi enough.

In today’s lesson, Chi introduced a great new approach: we watched a Vietnamese video together to solidify my listening comprehension and identify new vocabulary. This provided the "hands-on" practice I really needed, especially since I’ve struggled lately to understand speakers other than Chi. She was incredibly patient, replaying segments as many times as necessary until I fully understood. Beyond just providing translations, Chi explained the proper context for new words and answered all my questions regarding synonyms and sentence structures. It was an energetic and fun lesson; Chi always provided just the right amount of information to nudge me in the right direction.

Taking lessons with chi is awesome! She’s very helpful and understandable on what you are struggling with. She’s very good at explaining to where you can absorb the information and understands the history of where some of the words come from. Highly recommend!

I had 11 sessions with Chi so far and I enjoyed her lessons thoroughly thus far! She is cheerful, understanding and a great teacher. We go through a structured lesson, and Chi will provide me with homework after every lesson. We've started to have simple conversations in Vietnamese which is good practice :) I've been picking up Vietnamese pretty quickly and I highly recommend Chi!
