I'm a 29-year-old language enthusiast currently living in Brazil and teaching on iTalki since 2021.
Raised across three countries, I grew up speaking German, Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan—and later added English and Italian while living abroad. Now I'm diving into Greek!

I tailor each lesson to your unique strengths, needs, and learning pace—because no two students are the same. My approach is rooted in an intuitive, hands-on teaching style developed through experience.

My teaching style is flexible, interactive, and rooted in real conversation. I believe language is best learned through curiosity, cultural context, and spontaneous dialogue.
Grammar is introduced naturally, when needed, to deepen understanding. Depending on your level and preference, we can follow a structured path using grammar books and my own materials.

I have been taking Portuguese lessons with Bernardo for a couple of months now, and I am very pleased with his teaching method. He is always patient with me and takes the time to explain things in different ways until I understand. He is also kind and funny, making each lesson enjoyable and unique. Additionally, he assigns great homework that helps me practice what we have learned in class. I would highly recommend Bernardo as a Portuguese teacher.

Bernardo is great! He creates an environment that makes it easy to speak and allows conversation to flow naturally while teaching at the same time. As someone who doesn't like learning out of a textbook, this is perfect. Although I am sure he has the ability to adapt any student!

Today I had my first lesson with Bernardo, after six months of barely speaking any German. The atmosphere built in the class was the best and I really felt comfortable to speak and make mistakes, so as to learn from them. He is a super friendly guy that seems genuinely interested in those that take lessons with him and I am already looking forward to our next lesson together!

Bernardo is really a good bet for your money. You really take advantage of the full hour from minute one. Recommended if you get frustrated with slowness.
