Xin is very good at keeping the conversation going and notes down all the vocab and grammar in Google docs. She is very supportive and is encouraging me to tackle material outside of my comfort zone, and write more. Xin is also very punctual and has never canceled on me. I have been taking lessons for over a year now and am very pleased that I have found such a good teacher. I really like her lessons and look forward to the next one.

Xin is an excellent teacher. Her sessions are challenging, interesting and enjoyable. During this session, Xin helped me make sense of the countless questions I have about Chinese grammar, and as always, she patiently explains the grammar patterns until I have a better understanding of them. In fact, her explanations of grammatical patterns is much better than most Mandarin grammar book!!

Xin put me through a number of exercises to discern my knowledge level about tones and the pronunciation of Mandarin consonants and vowels. She was continuously positive and encouraging. Despite it being my first Mandarin lesson ever and my feeling a little nervous about it, Xin's presentation and ethos made it easy to relax. She painted it as the beginning of a journey, suggesting that what I didn't know now I could enjoy hearing and practicing.

Xin is a wonderful teacher! Not only is Xin a great conversationalist, she is great at thinking of vocabulary and grammar points to bring up during discussions, which is ideal for improving my speaking. She also keeps a Google doc of vocabulary with pinyin and definitions, making it easy to see during the lesson, and also convenient to review and reuse the vocabulary later on. I was looking for a teacher to help with speaking practice and pronunciation, and Xin has been the perfect teacher. She also brings in cultural knowledge, which keeps lessons interesting, and is great at explaining the words and grammar. I’d highly recommend a lesson with Xin - you will not regret it!
