I grew up in a family of teachers in Boston. After graduating from McGill University with a degree in History, I moved to Spain, where I began teaching English. Living and working with English speakers can be frustrating and isolating. The challenges go beyond grammar and vocabulary, despite what many learners are told. First, I listen carefully and try to get a clear sense of each student's unique goals, challenges, wants, and needs. Next, I help them design a learning system using tools and techniques that best fit their needs. All the while, I support them in maintaining their confidence and motivation.
