I think that the entire process of acquiring languages has to be immersive, with active use of language, mainly through speaking, hearing, and reading. I have taught Latin and Greek in high school and privately to several students. Greek: Besides the use of popular books like Athenaze, Polis, and Alexandros, the lessons will focus on the active use of the Greek language. Also, we will read your favorite authors, dialogues, and other works. Latin: I consider ”Familia Romana” to be the best resource for enhancing your level of Latin nowadays. After a month or two, a serious student should be able to read Caesar, Sallust, and Cicero without difficulty, and without the excessive use of dictionaries.

Constantin is completely proficient in Latin, which does not cease to amaze me, and he's very good at rephrasing or explaining what I don't initially understand, all without using a word of English! It's also fun to just chat with him about anything!

Another great lesson. I can't stress enough how helpful these classes are in really internalizing Ancient Greek. Having just finished a lesson, the language feels like it is already more "really in my head" than ever before; I just spoke to my wife and almost instinctively began using Ancient Greek! τοῦτο δὲ μάλα ἀρέσκει μοι!

Μιχαὴλ εὗρον πέρυσι ἐσπουδκὼς πολλὰ ἤδη ἔτη περὶ τῆς ἑλληνικῆς γλώσσης καὶ βουλόμενος μελετᾶν τὸ διαλέγεσθαι. ὁ δὲ Μιχαὴλ ἄρτι ἐφαίνετό μοι σπουδαιότατος καὶ ἐπιεικὴς ὤν, διδάσκων ὁτιοῦν ἔχει ἄσμενως μετὰ ἐλευθερίας τε καὶ φιλίας. μὴ οὖν ἀπορεῖ, ὦ ἀναγινώσκων, εἰ οἷός τε καὶ σύ μανθάνειν τὸ ἑλληνιστὶ διαλέγεσθαι. μὴ δὲ θαύμαζε εἰ, πολὺν ἤδη χρόνον ἀνηλωκὼς μάτην ἄλλῃ σπουδάζων περὶ τῆς γλώσσης, καλέσας “advanced” καίπερ οὐκ ἔχων τι τῷ ὄντι λέγειν, τοῦ Μιχαὴλ ὀλίγον χρόνον διδάσκοντος, ἐξαίφνης δείνος ἑλληνίζειν γίνῃ. ἔχων γὰρ τὸν Μιχαὴλ ὡς διδάσκαλον, μαθήσει εὐθέως, ἐάν τοι ὁ Θεός - καὶ σύ αὐτός - ἐθέλῃ!
