Hey everyone! I’m Lina from Bogotá, Colombia. I'm a lawyer and have a master’s degree in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I love traveling, nature, animals, and biking. I'm passionate about languages and music. Music has played a huge role in my learning journey. It’s deeply connected to both culture and education. Studies show that playing an instrument or even singing can enhance language skills, memory, and attention. In music, we recognize patterns, tones, and harmonies, just like in language, where words are built from sounds. The learning process is surprisingly similar!

I'm a lawyer and have a master's degree in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I have 12 years of experience teaching languages online, I also teach languages and music in person locally, I have worked with people of all ages and levels.
Each person learns at their own pace and in a different way, my method is to try to find the most effective stragety in the specific case, so they enjoy and learn in a more efficient and fast way, based on this I create an structured program. As a language learner myself, I understand how challenging it can be to learn a new language. I’ve been in your shoes! That’s why I teach the way I would like to be taught: with a personalized approach tailored to each student’s needs. I use a variety of resources, including exercises, texts, books, videos, and music, always making sure to prioritize conversation practice, because I truly believe that practice is the key to becoming a confident speaker (and I say this from experience!). Lina really checks all the boxes of a perfect language instructor. I tried so many instructors & when I finally found Lina I felt like I struck gold.
Her lessons are both structured & conversational, so I am learning very quickly & efficiently. She prioritizes Spanish throughout her lessons, but her english is so good (probably better than mine) that any time I need further explanation of anything, she easily jumps over to english so I can better understand. I'm very impressed with how her teaching style allows me to retain what we covered & improve week over week.
She's also so fun to talk to - She's really funny & she always has a big smile. I really look forward to my lessons each week.
