Hi! I'm María, I was born in Colombia and I've been teaching Spanish as a foreign language for 5 years. I'm a costume designer and I love traveling and living in different cultures, that's why I've lived in Argentina, Chile and currently in Ecuador. Because of this, I have a neutral accent, clear modulation and also knowledge about different slangs, which makes it easier for you to understand me. I'm also passionate about visual arts, cinema, theater, literature and languages, including my native language, Spanish.

I've taken lessons with María for a year and a half and she has been an extremely warm, patient teacher. She has a remarkable breadth of knowledge and interests, and is adept at keeping conversations going. She goes way above and beyond in each lesson. She has become a friend and I feel truly lucky to have found her!

Learning Spanish with Maria has been phenomenal. I have had the fortune of learning with her for 1 year and 8 months. Let's say this, I could not say more than 5 words in Spanish let alone read when we started and now, I am holding conversations with native speakers, watching Spanish films and series, and reading Spanish books with minimal effort. I have advanced beyond my initial expectations thanks to her and am thrilled to continue growing my Spanish with her. She is super organized and comes to class prepared with fun materials. Her patience with me and encouragement have also been a delight. Maria has my highest recommendation. If you are serious about improving your Spanish in a fun and exciting way, Maria is the tutor for you.
