My name is Mera and I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina, USA 🇺🇸
In our lesson, I'll start by getting to know you:
• Your goals for learning English
• Your weaknesses in English
• Skills you'd like to improve
Then I’ll create a personalized learning plan just for you.
We’ll practice vocabulary, pronunciation, conversations the way Americans naturally speak, or even job interview skills.
You can also choose a topic you like, and I’ll guide the conversation while giving real-time corrections.
I always type the corrections in the italki chat so you can review them later and track your progress.

I taught IELTS and TOEFL courses at a school in Bali before I started teaching on italki in March 2022. I conducted conversation lessons, exam preparation and group discussions both offline and online. My lessons are structured to help you reach your target in expressing yourself clearly in English. My goal as a teacher is to expand your vocabulary range, improve your pronunciation and teach you expressions and phrases naturally used by native English speakers, particularly in American English. I incorporate quality resources in my lessons including websites full of interesting topics, vocabulary lists and conversation questions to provide you with many opportunities for speaking practice. My teaching method focuses on building vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and strengthening English conversational skills. I engage my students in deep and thought-provoking discussions based on topics they choose. I also specialize in preparing students for the speaking sections of the IELTS and TOEFL exams. My exam-prep lesson is designed to help you express your ideas clearly, organize your thoughts effectively, and speak naturally under exam conditions. We will work on fluency, coherence, pronunciation, and grammar. I provide realistic speaking practice, feedback, and practical strategies to help you improve your responses.
