Hi there! I'm an avid conversationalist who never runs out of things to talk about. With a passion for teaching, I thrive on helping others improve their intercommunication skills. Having spent ten years in Japan, I developed a deep appreciation for Japanese culture. I speak Spanish and English fluently and I have a basic level of Japanese. As a vocational teacher, I approach my lessons with meticulous preparation. Connecting with students at all levels, I strive to understand their needs and create a relaxed atmosphere based on trust, allowing language to flow smoothly. I adapt to each student's personality and goals, being flexible and supportive or assertive and strict when necessary. To stay updated, I constantly research the latest methodologies and incorporate digital and interactive tools such as Kahoo, Genially, Quizlet or Anki. I am always open to suggestions and firmly believe in the reciprocal nature of the teaching-learning process. Teaching Spanish and English is my forte. With experience in online instruction for the past five years, I have honed my skills to meet the highest levels of exigence. In Spanish, I cover Business Spanish, daily-life Spanish, exam preparation (DELE, SIELE, etc.), and conversational Spanish. For English, I offer Business English, English for sports trainers, language perfection, conversational English, English for children, and exam preparation (TOEFL, Cambridge, and more). Diego always prepares lessons that work specifically for me. For me, I want to talk and tell stories and hear stories (in other words, have a conversation, which quickly illuminates what I don't know how to say), which then leads us to a lesson and homework relevant to our initial conversation.

For 2-3 months, Diego has helped me practice Spanish to prepare for walking the Camino de Santiago. When I went on the trip, I was able to communicate effectively along the camino in albergues, shops, restaurants, and with other peregrinos. This preparation made my trip so much more fulfilling and transformative, and I'm very grateful to be one of Diego's students!
Even though my trip is over, I'm looking forward to taking more lessons so that I can keep talking to others, reading and writing, and listening to Spanish media. I recommend Diego to anyone looking to learn Spanish in a fun and friendly way that will boost your confidence and make you love the language.

Had a fantastic lessons with Diego! He is a great teacher, showing a great deal of patience, offering detailed explanations, all the while being easy to talk to. He adapted the lesson perfectly to my level of Spanish, and we covered a range of interesting topics. I learned lots of new expressions, vocabulary, and gained some interesting insights on the development of Spanish as a language. Also, his teaching approach is very positive and motivating, as he points out any mistakes in a helpful, constructive way. I will definitely schedule more lessons!

Diego is an excellent teacher with a deep understanding of the mechanics of languages. His expertise is invaluable when discussing the foundational rules of Spanish. Beyond this, Diego is personable and easy to talk with, adapting lessons in the moment to whatever is interesting to me that day. This keeps the lessons engaging over time and exposes me to a much wider range of vocabulary compared to strictly regimented programs.
