Hello! I’m a certified English teacher with 20 years of experience, specializing in exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge) and Business English. I also worked for over five years in the financial sector (at HSBC) in London, giving me unique insight into professional language needs—perfect for job interviews or corporate success!
After my financial and business career in London, I traveled the world and discovered my passion for teaching. Now, I help students conquer exams and business challenges with confidence.
When not teaching, I’m running half-marathons or reading historical fiction—discipline and curiosity motivate growth, in language and life!

I have been teaching English since 1999 and shortly after obtained my CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching Accreditation) teaching qualification. I have taught in five different countries= the UK, Spain, Hungary, Vietnam and Malaysia; presently I am living in Budapest, Hungary.
My motivation for teaching?
There are two reasons why I enjoy teaching; firstly, the feeling of satisfaction when you have helped someone pass an examination, be successful in their career, a job interview or even learn a difficult piece of grammar. The student is the most important person, all of my lessons suit their personality, their knowledge and their style.
I use the first lesson to find out their strengths, development areas and their personal motivation for learning English.
We draw up a plan to help them achieve their goals in as quick and in as efficient a way as possible.
I need to be and am flexible. I am a native English speaker and teacher, I presently live in a country where English is not the first language spoken so I know exactly the problems in learning a foreign language but what do iI-expect from my students?
Simply they must want to learn English!

CELTA - HSBC (Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation) - 2024I have taught over 2,000 Business English lessons on Italki since 2014. Furthermore, I previously had a successful ten year career as a credit controller, working for the second biggest bank in the world (HSBC). I also possess a CELTA accreditation; during this period of study we were taught the structure of Business English teaching.
