I have lived in Ecuador for many years, and so know quite a lot of Spanish. This has helped me to teach and help Spanish students to improve their English quickly.
I have an English accent, which the students in this continent seem to love !
Students from anywhere else in the world are also welcome !

I have a lot of patience as a teacher. I have been teaching professionals at work as well as younger students. The best way for me to teach is to understand what the students need with their English. Classes can be taught to fit these individual needs. Classes need to have variety, and it is very important to keep the students interested. Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
I try and keep the classes as relaxed as possible. To get to personally know the students and give them as much confidence as possible in their English. The students learn the best through as much talking practice as possible, covering as wide a range as subjects/topics as possible. It is important to not continually correct every mistake, but to let the students learn. The more relaxed and confident they are, the more they are learning, in the long run.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow/Research AssistantI spent over 5 years working fr the European Commission in Belgium, first as a post doctoral research fellow, and then as a research assistant.
The official language of the institute was English. During this time, I helped many of my colleagues with reading and correcting their English papers/reports.

Great conversation class with Leigh! He is energetic, fun, friendly and relaxed. I didn't even feel nervous during the lesson because he makes conversations interesting. He encouraged me to be active and ask him any questions that I wanted to ask so I did and I received good answers from him! He was interested to find out more about Russia and Vladivostok so he asked me to tell him everything I know about my home country and my city and I gave him useful information about it. He also told me about England and Ecuador (where he lives). It was an excellent conversation and I hope to book another class with him soon! It was nice to meet him and talk about anything!

dopo aver provato alcuni insegnanti ho finalmente trovato quello giusto per me.
possiede ciò che cercavo: calma, pazienza, simpatia, sa proporre argomenti e mi corregge la pronuncia per migliorare il mio parlare.
mi sono trovata davvero bene e sicuramente riprenoterò con lui le prossime lezioni.

Our recent classes focus on learning interesting idioms. I am not good at pronouncing words with consecutive consonants, such as footwork and website. My teacher gave me useful guidance. Thanks, Leigh!
