Hi, my name is Zakir, I am from Pakistan. I devoted 8 years of my life to studying Arabic and Islamic sciences, along side this I have earned qualifications in; English, Urdu, Pashto and Arabic.
Most recently I have completed my Master of Philosophy degree (M. Phil).

I have been working as a language tutor now for the best part of a decade, and have plenty of experience in teaching people from all walks of life, each with their own varying levels of proficiency. I like to begin with students by discussing their motivations, expectations, as well as any previous experience that they may have in their chosen subject. Think of it as a bit of an ice-breaker, wherein we can set goals, routines and parameters.
Not every student will want to learn to read and write, some students may be after a crash-course prior to an upcoming trip. While others may desire to get in touch with their heritage; choosing to emerse themselves in the beautiful poetic culture of Urdu, or the religious serenity of classical Arabic.
Ultimately we can build a syllabus that works around you and your needs.

Excellent classes with Zakir. He is very patient and encouraging and is clearly passionate about sharing his knowledge of the language. Zakir is very flexible and goes out of his way to be available for class. This has been very helpful when my schedule has changed unexpectedly. He makes the learning process interesting and I feel like I'm making real progress with each lesson. If you're looking for a great Arabic teacher, Zakir is an excellent choice! I don't even know where to start in truth! Wow! I've used a few different tutors in the past but Zakir's manners and knowledge are just a cut above. He's so easy to talk to, friendly, patient and a very good guide, not only made my learning easy, but fun! It's nice to be able to laugh while I learn, I feel so at ease in class. I've suffered from mental block with other tutors before and found this to be stressful- but not with Zakir! :)
