I'm a TESOL-certified English tutor from New York City who has a passion for conducting conversation classes with English learners from around the globe. I work in the film industry, and so I love movies, but I enjoy talking deeply about any topic, whether it be art, music, food, traveling, current events, or anything else. I'm naturally very curious and would love to learn more about you through our in-depth conversational lessons!

My classes are like talking with a new friend, as learning a language through guided and personalized conversations is the most effective path to mastery. This style has gotten great results with past students, and I've had students struggling with English become proficient enough to attain jobs, attend colleges, and make friends in English. So whether you are a beginner or nearly fluent, taking classes with me will no doubt improve your natural conversational skills and your confidence in doing so. NOTE: I do not teach children under 16 years old

These sessions are truly conversational, and I have a myriad of conversation topics and articles we can use to facilitate our discussions. I can tailor our topics based on what you're interested in and your goals, whether that be to feel more comfortable at work or for casual social situations, and I love to learn more about your areas of interest, as well as share my own. I adapt to your personal learning style and English goals, and I will introduce you to many new phrases, expressions, and vocabulary, which will help you unlock your next level of English proficiency.

The lesson was great as always - very relaxed but also really useful. It’s always a joy to talk with Sonic, the conversations are super interesting and fun. Feels easy and natural, like chatting with a friend but you also learn a lot :)

He is extremely attentive, communicates very well, and makes the classes enjoyable and engaging. I really like how he always teaches me new words and expressions, encouraging me to use them creatively in our conversations. The lessons flow naturally, and I truly feel that I’m making great progress. I highly recommend him!
