Hei! I’m Lizzie, a native Norwegian tutor from Kristiansand, Norway. I’ve lived in the U.S. for over 20 years and studied in several countries, including Belarus, Greece, and Nevis. I’ve also traveled extensively, but I especially love the cozy summer vibes in Southern Norway. We have a cottage in Narvik in Northern Norway, and I enjoy skiing, hiking, and exploring the mountains. I hold degrees in biology, political science, and counseling, and I am currently pursuing an MDiv as well as a degree in medicine. In my free time, I enjoy long-distance running, swimming, strength training, and reading. I love all animals—especially dogs. My best travel buddy and friend is my Boston Terrier! I offer fast-track, structured Norwegian courses from A1 to B2. This approach is especially effective for relocation or professional goals. I work individually with each student to identify the most efficient learning method, assess your goals, and design a clear path to fluency. I use the textbook Sett i Gang for levels A1 and A2, Stein på Stein for B1 and Her på Berget for B2. Vi snakkes! am currently accepting new students for intensive Norwegian courses at levels A1, A2, and B1. You can choose between a mini-intensive or a full-intensive program. The mini-intensive course uses the textbook The Mystery of Nils, and most students study between 1.5 and 3 hours per week. Does an excellent job of correcting pronunciation errors and adding in supporting vocabulary. Gives great details about how cadence works between different languages.

Elisabeth is a fantastic teacher! She explains the concepts very clearly and systematically and is great at providing useful examples to help further my knowledge. I would definitely recommend her to any student wanting to learn Norwegian at any level!

The teacher cancelled the lesson on me, saying that she doesn't have room for any new individual students. For some reason, italki did not stop me from booking with her.. and I feel that a change needs to be made to the italki system to more clearly display teachers' real availabilities. now I am waiting for a refund.
