Hello! My name is Karen and I’m 32 years old. I’m originally from Mexico, but I’ve been living in Serbia for five years now. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, playing cozy video games and spending time in nature.
In my classes, you can expect an engaging approach tailored to your goals. I’ll do my best to share with you the beauty of the Serbian language and culture! 🌸
I’m a native Spanish speaker and medical doctor who has lived and worked in Serbian hospitals. Having learned Serbian as a second language, I know the challenges it entails and can guide you step by step from A1 to B2. With my medical background, I can also support learners interested in professional or medical contexts, in Serbian, Spanish, or English. Because I can compare Serbian and Spanish from a learner’s perspective, I highlight details even natives may not notice. I’ll be glad if you place your trust in me as your teacher, and I look forward to accompanying you on your language learning journey. 💉📖

Laurea triennale - MedicineThe bachelor covers both medical theory and practical skills, including surgery and clinical assessment. It is also a requirement to complete hands-on clinical practice in hospitals, working directly with patients.

In the first part of our lesson, Karen and I practiced unit one of Serbian for Foreigners, focused on basic pronouns and nominative case. In the second part of our lesson, we conjugated verbs from 2/5 of the verb groups.
As always, Karen is meticulous in her approach to teaching, drawing on resources (such as textbooks, slides and personally curated worksheets).
I strongly recommend Karen to anyone who is looking to learn Serbian. She knows how to teach the language well to English speakers.
