Georgius

Hodie latine scribere institui, non quod ingenium meum, quod sentio, quam sit exiguum, ostendere velim, sed quia quot res pulchras a Georgio, magistro doctissimo atque humanissimo, didici, ostendere oportet. Opus Livii de more legimus. Nonullas verborum iuncturas, mihi nuper ignotas, non sine diligentia invenimus. Georgius omnia clare et diligenter explicavit. Macte virtute!

Today's class with Georgius was very interesting. We did a very close reading of a passage from Livy, going into great detail regarding both the language and the characters in the narrative, many of whom I knew little about previously. As always, we spoke Latin the whole time, but nevertheless everything was perfectly clear. He used images to better explain some words. Another successful lesson!

Georgius explained today's reading clearly and in detail, with a particular focus on finer points of grammar and syntax. I was able to understand well despite the complexity of the sentence structures, thanks to Georgius patience and help. He also did a good job of speaking at a slow, steady pace to ensure I understood him. Yet another engaging, suitably challenging lesson!

We continued reading Livius today. I learned a number of interesting and useful new phrases, both from the pages we read and from the teacher himself!

Georgius is a competent and skilled teacher, who is always willing to explain in great detail what we are reading (Livy, currently). I learned new words and phrases in today's lesson, as well as some fascinating facts regarding the etymology of words I already knew. As always, I was impressed by my teacher's eloquence and facility in speaking Latin. I would recommend his classes, particularly to students at the advanced level looking to take their Latin even further.

Georgius is a highly competent teacher with a strong knowledge of Latin vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, syntax, and colloquialisms. He's also quite skilled at imparting that knowledge in an efficient, clear manner. All of this was done entirely in Latin, with no need for us to use any other language. Recommended.
