Hello! I’m Merve, a bilingual English–Turkish speaker with 10+ years of experience living and teaching in the UK. As a former lawyer and PhD graduate in environmental law, I bridge cultures and languages with ease. My passion is helping learners master languages with accuracy, whether for travel, work or everyday life. When I am not teaching, I enjoy exploring new languages and practising jiu jitsu. I have a passion for teaching and extensive experience across various settings. I have taught languages previously and worked as a law lecturer in the UK for several years. Currently, I teach English and Turkish on italki, and I also instruct Brazilian jiu-jitsu. My previous teaching experience has shown me that every learner has a unique way of learning that suits them best. I am happy to adapt the style of our sessions to match your goals and preferences. We can focus on English and Turkish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation, reading and writing. Please feel free to book a trial session with me so we can discover what works best for you. I will provide tailored teaching materials designed to meet your personal needs. If you are an absolute beginner in Turkish, we can conduct the session in English.
