I have served as an Arabic, Farsi, and English tutor in Iran for high school students. I am well versed in Persian literature and poetry. I am passionate about Rumi, Hafiz, and Ferdowsi. I have translated English books into Farsi and published them in Iran. I am currently translating a Farsi book into English for the newer generation of Iranian expatriates. I have over 20 years of experience in child development and also served a pre-school teacher for 14 years. As a result, I am very patient, empathetic and compassionate. I truly like watching people learn and grow and will find ways to cater to my students' interests and strengths. There are no dumb questions and will meet you where you at. I am very flexible--I want to help you in any way I can. For students interested in reading and writing, I can teach you the Persian alphabet, give you writing assignments, and also read books with you. If you are interested in picking up conversational Persian, then we can have free-ranging discussions about a variety of topics.

Absolutely wonderful. I was met where I was and together, we came up with a plan to meet my goals. Very kind yet firm in correcting. Exactly what an excellent teacher would do. I left the lesson excited to learn more. That's how I could tell I got lucky finding her as a teacher.

Salaam, Najmee is an excellent teacher who is very patient, understanding and together we have started reading the Shahnameh from cover to cover. She interprets the deeper meanings of this Persian classic while also explaining the definitions of words that I don't know. I look forward to many more classes.
