The lesson with Elsa was extremely useful, at this stage focussing on the key buildings blocks of tones and pronunciation of letters. She is extremely patient and goes to a lot of trouble to help improve these vital aspects.

The trial lesson was great! Elsa adjusted her speech for my level, asked questions to see how well I could understand and respond, asked about my goals, and wrote down sentences I could learn from. I plan to take more lessons with her!

Elsa Liu is an excellent teacher who explains concepts clearly and creates helpful Chinese example sentences that make grammar much easier to understand. Her lessons focus strongly on speaking, and she always encourages students to form their own sentences in Chinese, which builds confidence and supports steady progress. I have learned a tremendous amount in just one month, and without her guidance I would not be as far along as I am today. She prepares every lesson carefully and adapts it to her students’ individual needs. One thing I especially appreciate is her good level of German. Whenever something is difficult to understand, she can explain it in German, making complex topics much easier to grasp, especially for beginners. She also uses many pictures and visual examples that make learning vocabulary more effective. I highly recommend Elsa Liu to anyone who wants to learn Chinese or prepare for the HSK exam.

She is patience and encouraging me not to be afraid of speaking Chinese. Although my Chinese is not that good, she is trying hard to explain things. We had a lot of enjoyable discussion during class.

Excellent first lesson. Elsa is very encouraging and supportive and provides motivation to set off on the long but fascinating journey of learning Mandarin.
