Hi! My name is Steven, but I prefer my middle name, Jacob. I am a certified 'English as a Second Language' teacher from Illinois in the United States. I went to college in California for two years before switching careers to become an English teacher. I was certified by International TEFL Academy to teach English as a second language. I have spent 4 months teaching English as a second language at my local opportunity center. In my free time I like to paint, crochet, and knit. I am a native English speaker and I also speak Spanish. I teach A1 Beginners through C1 advanced students. I offer 3 english classes.
1. Formal English Class:
In my formal english class I teach a lesson and provide assignments, activities, and homework.
2. Informal English Class:
In my informal english class the student brings an article or topic for us to talk about so we can practice speech and vocabulary.
3. Extra Help Class:
In my extra help class I tutor students that need help with essays, books, or assignments they don’t understand. Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
I work with my students to make sure they understand all of the material before the end of class when I teach at the opportunity center. In addition to my lectures, I offer written lessons that my students take home to study. I do this because I believe repetition is the best way to learn. I have experience teaching english to beginner level, intermediate level, and advanced level students. I use flash cards, pictures, and games to make learning easier.Il mio materiale didattico
