My name is Emoni and I come from sunny Puerto Rico. ¡Mucho gusto!
I've been teaching Spanish, English, and Italian for more than ten years. I'm also a professional visual artist as well as a language enthusiast. Welcome to my Teacher Profile!Che tipo di insegnante sono
I've been an ESL teacher since 2010. I possess a TEFL certification as well as a BA in Italian language, literature, and culture. I've also worked for three Italian schools, being in charge of organizing and preparing lesson plans for groups and individual students in both private and company settings. I have experience with book-based lessons, personalized courses, business-centered learning, online teaching, telephonic and e-mail lessons. I have ample experience teaching beginners to advanced students (A1-C2, as guidelined by CEFR).

Lessons are personalized to the student. When booking for the first time, I will ask you in a message to include as much information as possible to tailor classes to your specific goals. The teaching methodology I use is student-centered teaching, so as to allow you to use the language, giving you the opportunity to put your knowledge to the test. Depending on your needs, we will exercise speaking, reading, listening, and writing with articles, vocabulary lists, videos, topics of conversation, role-play situations, and/or homework.

I just had an exceptional lesson with Emoni, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She taught Puerto Rican phrases with real depth and context, not just vocabulary, but how, when, and why Puerto Ricans actually use them.
What impressed me most was the breadth and richness of the lesson. Emoni didn’t just explain expressions. She tied them to culture, tone, and everyday usage so they feel natural and authentic. She also adapted the class perfectly to my level, pushing me to refine my Spanish while still making the session engaging and fun.
If you’re serious about learning Puerto Rican Spanish or want a teacher who can take you to an advanced, natural-speaking level, Emoni is a very strong teacher that can provide valuable structure for learning. I look forward to the next lesson.

Great teacher. Well-prepared with variety of materials. Worked on pronunciation and vocabulary, among other topics. Very supportive while excellent at corrections and encouraging of questions. Great communication in-between lessons

Emoni, is an absolutely amazing teacher! Being that I am of Puerto Rican decent, Emoni has been teaching me the Puerto Rican dialect of Spanish and incorporating pieces of Puerto Rican history. It's amazing how she's been able to customize each lesson for me. She's an absolute pleasure to work with, and I look forward to many many more lessons with her!
