Highest recommendation! I have been studying with Sayuri先生 for a long time, and I feel very lucky to have her as my Japanese teacher. She is patient, kind, professional, and extremely helpful. One of her greatest strengths is explaining difficult Japanese concepts clearly while keeping lessons natural, practical, and connected to real communication. Because her English is excellent, she can explain grammar, vocabulary, nuance, and cultural context in a way that is easy to understand. I often bring her questions from language school, self-study, reading, listening practice, and daily life in Japan. She always helps me organize the material, understand the important points, and feel less overwhelmed. She is especially good at putting things into context so Japanese feels more usable, not just memorized.

Enjoyed another interactive lesson filled with opportunities to practice my verbal Japanese. It's such an important asset in my study for me to put what I learned in my own time. Sayuri is an excellent teacher who I have had the pleasure of taking lessons with for almost three years. She is very gifted in teaching Japanese grammar, as well as very easy-going and easy to have conversations with in Japanese. She is also very flexible, and structures the lessons around the student. When I need to practice grammar we practice with her materials and if it’s the JLPT we focus on listening practice. Perhaps most important of all, we have practiced the Japanese needed for real-life situations. Today, she helped me prepare for an interview. Practicing the Japanese needed for interviews, city office visits, or any other real-world scenarios has been extremely helpful for my Japanese learning.
