Hi there! My name is Hope. And I *hope* to help you on your English learning journey. :)
☆I have a 320-Hour TEFL MASTER Certification, specializing in IELTS, Business English and online teaching.☆
I'm a native American English speaker, and I love helping people improve their English.
My lessons are conversation-based, which is my specialty, and specific to your needs and goals.
I was born in the US and I lived in Los Angeles for 12 years. Travel is a real passion of mine. I now live in Vietnam after living in Italy, Canada and the U.S.

Because of my background in language learning, I know the difficulties you face. My goal is to help you feel confident and fully prepared to speak with anyone you meet.
I've tutored and held language exchanges at my university (The University of California - Los Angeles aka UCLA) with Korean, Japanese and Italian exchange students.
If you're struggling with English at work, I can also help with business terminology as I have work experience in office settings and a TEFL specialization in Business English.
I am patient, friendly, and have a standard American accent and a sense of humor! All you need is some practice and motivation.

*PLEASE NOTE:
*60-minute classes are 55 minutes.
*30-min classes are 25 minutes.
*LATE POLICY: I wait for students for 10 minutes. After that, it's counted as a no-show.
*RESCHEDULING/CANCELLATION: italki's policy is 24 hours in advance.
We will create a plan together to help you improve your English in a way that works for you, customized to your specific needs and goals.
My goal is for us to share a comfortable environment where you can feel free to practice & make mistakes.
One technique I use is a shared Google doc: in this way, we can keep track of your progress, and you focus on speaking. I'll take the notes for you, so you can review things before and after our lessons.Il mio materiale didattico

Great lesson again! Hope is very good at correcting my mistaking and explaining it to me. I am grateful for the explanation, with valuable pauses to breakdown certain things that were confusing me. She is also very supportive and understanding towards my goals and provided excellent resources to develop my English! :D Thank you!

Hope’s method of working is professional and focused on my goals. Her approach to be supportive on the one side and picky on the other side helps me a lot. Hope writes a google doc for each lesson - where she lists all my mistakes - to give me a reminder of what is still in need of improvement.

Today I wrote scripts for role play by myself and did role play with her. She suggested me natural phrases and taught me paraphrases that were useful in a business meeting.
