Hello, everyone! My name is Shoko and I’m a friendly native Japanese teacher living in Brazil.
I love meeting new people and learning different languages and cultures. I am passionate about teaching Japanese and the best thing about my job is being able to help my students to achieve their goals and dreams in life through language learning.
I’m now raising bilingual children with my Brazilian husband. I love exploring new places, trying and cooking various dishes from around the world, reading books and watching movies.
I hope to get to know you and help you with your Japanese learning goals!

I’m a certified native Japanese teacher and I’ve been teaching Japanese as a foreign language for over 10 years: 5 years teaching at universities in Argentine and Brazil and 7 years teaching online. I have worked with students of all levels―from absolute beginner to advanced―from all over the world!
I love learning languages as well as teaching Japanese, so I understand quite well the difficulties and pleasures in your language learning journey. Sometimes it hard to keep motivated, but I’ll do my best to give you the pleasure, motivation and confidence. I've been studying with Shoko さん for the past three months in preparation for a trip to Japan, and I cannot thank her enough for all the instruction she's provided! I did not have any Japanese experience, yet in just a short period, I feel I've learned so much and received such valuable speaking practice and encouragement from her. I always look forward to lessons and cannot recommend Shoko さん enough. If you want a kind, fun, and hardworking professor, Shoko さん is for you!

As aulas com a Shōko-sensei são tão boas que eu nem vejo o tempo passar! Quando me dei por mim, já havia passado 5 minutos do fim da aula. Excelente professora, muito atenciosa, divertida e motivadora! Recomendo sempre, para todo mundo!

Shoko is an excellent teacher and has been a tremendous help in my Japanese studies. She is very attentive to my learning objectives and smoothly switches between conversation, listening, writing, and reading in a way that is dynamic and pushes me to the limits of my abilities. Highly recommended!

Shoko is everything I could have hoped for from a tutor. She listens patiently as I try to put what I've learned into practice, is kind and helpful in correcting mistakes, and truly goes the extra mile both during and after class to make sure my language skills are improving. I've learned so much since we started working together and I'm looking forward to continuing to study together in the new year!

Shoko is very enthusiastic and her positive attitude puts a smile on your face. She uses both books and custom made teaching materials that help a lot in understanding the concepts
