Che tipo di insegnante sono
Six years ago, I started teaching on Italki and also gave extra lesson to high school students. From August 2017 until December 2018 I taught German and English in a language school in Ho Chi Minh City. The biggest city in Vietnam and gained a lot of experience in teaching in front of a class. During this time I realized one of the biggest challenges in learning a language. Self-confidence. Also the structure and way of teaching was not always efficient. In order to support the Vietnamese education system and especially the students, together with my Co-Founders we set up our own German language center in Vietnam. During the lesson I mainly focus on speaking and listening. The biggest problem for students is to overcome the fear of speaking a foreign language. I will create a comfortable atmosphere by letting you chose the topic and I will encourage and motivate you in a genuine way so you feel easy to talk. Of course I am able to explain you some key grammar points in order for you to understand the language better. I also want to share culture and tradition through the lesson.Il mio materiale didattico

Thomas organizes the lessons perfectly, but it is so pleasant to talk to him that it happens not to follow the scheduled topic. Today, for example, we have not even mentioned it.
In the last weeks he has managed to give me a lot of confidence in speaking and at the same time he has given me pleasant hours of conversation.

Best first lesson I think I've had. Thomas took note of what I'd like to accomplish, preferred learning style, if homework was wanted and then gave a suggestion for how our lesson time could be structured. I was able to speak a lot more than I'd expected and Thomas was very good with keeping our conversation going with lots of good questions which was a big help. He seems very experienced and comfortable with teaching so I'm looking forward to having another lesson soon.

I was able to nail my introduction as well as better able to answer follow-up questions because I had practiced thinking things through with you!
