Michela Badii

Great to be back after a new year’s break! Used the time to read a whole novel in Italian and ready to forge ahead into the B2 book. Can’t believe how far we’ve come in two years!

Michela has a sixth sense about language. When I struggle to express a nuanced thought she is able to both cognitively and emotionally ascertain precisely what it is I'm trying to say. This is a rarity. Her humor and her empathy are a winning combination which augments her obvious intellect. Finally, she has an ocean of patience for me, far more than any instructor with whom I've previously worked. Her ability as an instructor is unrivaled, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Today we talked about my job and I learned a lot of new vocabulary on the topic. It was also a good topic for practicing some subjunctive too.

I have been studying with Michela for a couple of months now. She is a fantastic teacher! I am still in the stage where I feel like a beginner and need to study a lot more. But I'm also amazed at how much I have learned in such a short time. She is very patient and encouraging. She is also generous with her time and her help. I feel lucky to have found her on this site! I plan to continue studying with her until I feel much more comfortable holding conversations in Italian.

Michela was so patient with me today. It took my a while to get my brain to fire and she does such a great job of creating a calming and safe space which is important when you're trying to speak another language and no freeze up! We continued a topic from last week which helped test my active knowledge of that vocabulary, and also talked about Easter customs in our respective countries. :)

It was fun to learn some of the vocab around talking about films.
