In my past career as an aid worker, I lived and worked across three continents, picking up languages, stories, and perspectives along the way. These days, I bring that same curiosity into teaching Spanish—helping students go beyond the textbook through dynamic conversations and real-world fluency. If I had to sum myself up in one word, it would be inquieto: restless, curious, always learning. When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me with a guitar in hand, out on a trail, or tracking down the next great meal.

I hold a BA in Journalism and a Master’s in International Relations. While I am not a certified teacher, I approach teaching with a unique perspective that prioritises connection over convention.
With strong social skills and extensive experience interacting with people from diverse cultures, I aim to foster close relationships with my students. My goal is to create a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment built on mutual trust, where students feel at ease as they progress.

My teaching style breaks from the conventional. No dull grammar drills or rote homework—instead, dynamic sessions centred on practical, hands-on learning with a strong focus on real conversation.
I specialize in helping students think and express themselves in Spanish, not just recite it. Whether we’re unpacking global issues or swapping travel tales, every lesson blends curiosity, culture, and meaningful dialogue.

An absolute all-star teacher! I have been a regular student of Rafa’s for a while, and I always leave fully energized after our Spanish chats. The conversation flows, and I hardly note that any of my deficiencies in the language are barriers to deep and meaningful exchanges. I absolutely recommend his “Next Level Spanish!” modules, where he finds thought-provoking material, based on common interests, to review before the class. I often wish that the clock would just freeze, as his questions and suggestions generate so much intrigue that I just hate having to disconnect. Tomo clases con Raúl desde 2024 y siempre lo paso muy bien. Hay muy buena energía, las clases son interesantes y hablamos de temas profundos. Además, Raúl explica con mucha claridad y cuando hace falta me corrige de forma oportuna y con mucha paciencia, lo que me ayuda a mejorar de verdad. Me motiva a seguir aprendiendo y siempre salgo de clase con ganas de más. En 2026 pienso seguir tomando clases con él sin duda. ¡Lo recomiendo totalmente!
