¡Hola! I'm a Spanish teacher from Murcia living in Mallorca. Like everyone here at italki, I love learning new languages but, above all, I love teaching my mother tongue to other people. My second language is English, which I learned for more than twenty years and after living in the UK for three years (I have many ridiculous and embarrassing anecdotes to tell you). In my spare time I read, travel, try to make Neapolitan pizza and sushi, and listen to loud rock music 🎸Che tipo di insegnante sono
I have taught teenagers, young adults and so on up to people in their eighties, from many different places for almost four years. And I have learned three VERY important things:
- I like to make my students feel confortable in my lessons. I will always try to make you laugh and have a good time.
- Mistakes are ✨ NECESSARY and RECOMMENDABLE ✨. I like to call them learning opportunities because through "trauma" you remember things better. I promise you (and I tell you from experience 😅). In our classes you're going to make them and we're going to laugh at them.
- This is how it works: 50% teacher work, 50% student work. There are no magic formulas, just perseverance.Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
I'm specialised in teaching ADULTS, and each class is carefully organised and structured for the needs of the individual. Communication will be the key, and I'll mainly help you to:
➡️ Show your authentic self in Spanish
➡️ Gain confidence in communicating with natives and stop being afraid of making mistakes
➡️ Understand the Spanish language "map" 🗺️ and how to structure your speech
➡️ Be more independent when using the language to thrive in your new home 🏝️

Celia is always prepared, always so pleasant, always such good fun. I'm so glad I found her amongst all the tutors here. Today we did a mixture of casual conversation then a learning exercise. The hour goes so quickly!
