Hi, I’m Matthew, a friendly English teacher from northern England with 14 years of experience helping learners speak naturally, confidently, and clearly. I specialise in guiding intermediate and advanced students who want to sound more fluent, more expressive, and more like themselves in English.
I love meaningful conversation, exploring ideas, and helping students break through the barriers that hold them back. Outside the classroom, you’ll find me cooking, hiking in nature, or discovering new music, always curious, always learning.

I came to the lesson with a very specific goal related to exam preparation and prononciation in General British, so the focus of the lesson was already quite targeted from the beginning (probably a little different from a typical first lesson). I really appreciated how flexible and responsive he was to my needs. Even within that relatively short time, I already felt that I gained valuable insights, especially regarding to my intonation. His detailed feedback helped me become more aware of areas I need to work on. All in all, I‘m very grateful for his support and would definitely recommend him!

Matthew is a very professional teacher who uses a wide range of useful materials during his lessons. I took a British pronunciation course with him, and I feel much more confident in my English now.
