I enjoy conversational practices, I am patient, I like to listen and allow people to talk. I like that my students feel calm and confident enough to talk and make mistakes without feeling bad, because I am here to help them. I think we all have wonderful stories to share. // Disfruto mucho las practicas conversacionales, soy muy paciente, me gusta escuchar y permitir que las personas hablen. Me gusta que mis alumnos se sientan tranquilos y con la confianza suficiente para hablar y cometer errores sin sentirse mal, porque yo estoy aquí para ayudarlos. In addition to helping with specific grammar topics, my lessons are mainly based on conversational practice, through multiple topics on daily life and current issues, I hope that my students will develop the ability to communicate in any situation.

Mariel seems to have the patience of a saint. There are times in language learning where there are words and phrases that you haven't learned yet or you've learned and can't mentally access in the moment. It's very frustrating, but I like to try first, so I really appreciated that Mariel allowed me to be the type of learner that I am, which is to search my memory-bank or look in the dictionary (my choice) so that I could finish my chopped up thought, before she wrote the sentence correctly in order for me to review offline. To me, that's an exceptional quality and I actually felt like I grew in my one hour session with her.

I am writing this in English so that prospective students will be able to read it. Mariel and I always have great conversations on a huge range of topics...from development and politics to motorcycles and jokes. She manages to correct my errors without interrupting the flow of conversation, which is a tough trick to pull off. I very much recommend her as a tutor.

Great lesson, Mariel is very supportive and understanding of a student like me who wants to learn and not afraid of making mistakes. The lesson included a lot of conversation with Mariel providing consistent feedback and corrections.
