I’ve taken more than 100 lessons with Jessica, and I’m still excited to continue learning with her. She has recommended different ways for me to study on my own, which has been very helpful. Thanks to her guidance, my Chinese has improved significantly. During a recent trip to Beijing, I was able to order food and communicate with locals with confidence. I can now even listen to full-length novels in Chinese and understand about 50% of what I hear. Jessica is a fantastic teacher who will definitely help advance your Vietnamese. She genuinely wants you to understand words when you hear them, so she speaks in Vietnamese at a level that best develops your listening skills. When I don’t understand something, she repeats it in English and then writes down the new vocabulary on a PDF for me to practice later. Her classes are a lot of fun because she truly enjoys teaching, loves to laugh, and keeps the conversation lively—there’s never any dead air. She’s enthusiastic about talking, hearing stories, and listening to explanations, and she gives me time to speak and work through what I want to say. She patiently corrects my grammar so I don’t keep making the same mistakes unknowingly. I’d highly recommend her because I’ve seen real progress in my Vietnamese listening and speaking skills—and I’ve had a great time in her class, too!
